“Kevin, I know what you’re going to say. The biggest problem you have with ‘The Secret’ is that it doesn’t tell people to take action and without action nothing can happen. But you do like what’s there, right?”
First, “take action” is another minor factor in getting what you want in life. (less than 50%)
Any and every moron “takes action.”
- Once you get past fraud (lying to sell a product) like taking words people said and intentionally leaving out the “and the fools that believe…” part of the quote, and then the people who back ‘The Secret’ quote what Churchill said only fools believe…once you get past that deception…
- …and once you get past the philosophy of “a vibration” that attracts like a “magnet” (which um…attracts the OPPOSITE of)…
- …and once you get past the philosophy of ‘we bring our current life circumstances that we have in our lives upon ourselves everytime‘…. (which we can disprove in 20 seconds on any day at any moment at any hour)
- …and once you get past the insane philosophy that you need to feel “good” about what you “visualize” (the most ridiculous proposal perhaps and easiest to disprove in perhaps 10 seconds, in every circumstance)
- …and once you get past the fact that gratitude causes receipt of things (again, naive or a blatant lie)
- …and once you get past the fact that the greater philosophy is a philosophy of guilt (it’s not working for you yet? then you’re attracting your counter intentions…)
…so essentially there is NO part of ‘The Secret’ that really has any relevance to attracting anything into your life. Oh, the visualization part. Yes. That rocket scientist piece is correct. Every five-year-old gets this very easy concept.
Teach a five-year-old the other concepts and you teach a child to destroy their lives, become addicts, criminals and become devoid of any chance at succeeding in life.
…once you get past these things, there is something I like about ‘The Secret’….
…I liked that it made me laugh when I saw the part how supposedly Mother Teresa knew ‘The Secret’ but instead of sharing the secret to having food and water, she instead let people starve and die all around her!
So…Is taking action key…?
Is Taking Action the Key?
No, “taking action” is a nice thing, but it’s just about as insane to believe that “taking action” is going to get you anything more than visualizing itself.
You have the visualization of what you want, which perhaps is 2% of the “success equation.”
You have “taking action” which is about 5% of the “success equation.”
Well shoot, only 93 miles to go before anything good happens in life.
Visualization and taking action will almost always GET YOU NOTHING.
Visualization and taking action will almost always CAUSE NOTHING SIGNIFICANTLY GOOD OR BAD.
I think what is scariest about all of the ‘secrety’ stuff is the blatant ignorance and stupidity it demands of the believer.
I often wonder if anyone related to ‘The Secret’ has EVER read a biography of a successful person who achieved anything, good or bad.
You really think The Wright Brothers were the first to build a machine that looked like a bird that left the ground?
Thousands attempted the same concept in the decades before The Wright Brothers, all over the world, and almost all died in the process.
Visualizing that they would fly, and then took an action, well shoot, that should get you success, right?
Nope. Most of the time it gets you death.
People who visualize and then take an action are idiots.
You’re better off to simply visualize and get nothing than taking random actions without calculation of cause and effect, and calculation of risk. I watch people who visualize and take action all the time. I read about them in the newspaper.
- “Child drowns in wading pool.”
- “Terrorists slam into World Trade Center.”
- “Toddler dies from heat after being left in car by Mother who went grocery shopping.”
- “Hundreds of soldiers killed by Suicide Bombers.”
- “Jane Doe files for bankruptcy after buying house with sub prime mortgage.”
Visualize plus Action is a MESS.
And the rest of us have to clean up after these people. (Literally.)
Pretty much, none of the major tragedies of the world happen if people just stay home and don’t visualize or take action.
“Kevin I liked your article, why does everyone miss that ACTION is the key?”
“Because ACTION IS NOT THE KEY.”
Read a biography. I’ve got a bunch here. Franklin, Edison, Jimmy Stewart, Elvis, Lincoln.
Those are the biographies in the living room here. There are hundreds more upstairs.
NONE of these people “visualized and then took action.”
They ALL baked a cake.
The secret to making a real cake?
The Secret to Making a Real Cake
“…so to make a cake, just get a picture your in your mind of what the cake will look like and then TAKE ACTION. Put a big plate out so when the cake appears it LANDS right on the plate.”
“But Kevin, you’re being ridiculous. Obviously you have to take actions that matter.”
“Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I missed that part. How do you KNOW that they matter?”
“Well you have to know what goes into a cake.”
“Like flour, water, sugar, chocolate (your favorite Kevin)…”
“How do you KNOW that?”
“My Mom taught me and her Mom taught her and it’s always worked.”
“OK so you have a proven model with success that works everytime…but ‘The Secret’ says all you have to do is visualize, feel good about it and be grateful.”
“Well that doesn’t work with making a cake.”
“Because it can’t happen like that. You have to know what the ingredients are to make a cake.”
“Got it. Forgive me, I’m kind of dense… I’m just learning… so if I just pull out these ingredients and pop ’em in a bowl I get my chocolate cake?”
“No that isn’t going to work either.”
“Why not. I have visualization.
I have action, lots of actions.
I have all these ingredients in this here bowl.
I am closing my eyes visualizing a cake.
I feel REALLY GOOD about this. It’s 100% THERE for me.
I feel grateful I get to eat a chocolate cake.
I open my eyes.
“There you go again, you’re being sarcastic.”
“I’m reporting the news.”
“You have to know what to do with the ingredients.”
“So I can visualize,
have the right ingredients,
take lots of different actions,
and get nothing?”
“Well of course. That’s what happens EVERYTIME if you don’t do everything right.”
“I have to do stuff right?”
“Well you can’t just throw a bunch of ingredients in a bowl, close your eyes, think of a cake and have them magically appear. Kevin you really test my patience sometimes.”
“Sorry, I just thought it was about visualization and taking action. I didn’t realize I had to have the RIGHT INGREDIENTS, PUT THEM INTO A BOWL, and then do something else.”
“You have to stir them up, too.”
“How would I know that?”
“You would have to have your Mom or someone teach you, or read it in a Cook Book.”
“A COOK BOOK? What the hell is a cook book?”
“A cook book is a book with recipes. It shows you how to make lots of different stuff.”
“Can you have the same ingredients and get different food?”
“Of course, it’s not the ingredients, it’s the COMBINATION and AMOUNT of the INGREDIENTS.”
“Wow. Let me get over there…How much flour to I need? Water? Sugar? Chocolate? ___?”
The poor girl tells Kevin…
“Got it. And then I stir it up?”
She watches with a big smile knowing that this time the poor ignorant Kevin will get it. Kevin puts the spoon down.
“Is that stirred enough?”
“Good job Kev, now all you have to do is…”
“I Know visualize, feel good about it, and be grateful.”
He closes his eyes again. Scrunching his eyes closed you can tell he is concentrating with that tiny little brain.
“I feel grateful. I feel good. I’m grateful to have a cake…my favorite chocolate…I am feeling good just smelling the ingredients…OK…I’m opening up………………….hey…nothing happened.”
“Well no of course, what did you expect? You didn’t DO ANYTHING?”
“What do you mean I didn’t do anything? I’ve been standing here with you for 20 minutes taking dozens of actions that you said your Mom taught you to take. I’ve visualized, I’ve been grateful, I’ve felt good about.”
“Kevin, get off the visualiztion, feel good and be grateful, none of that stuff matters, OK? gahd you are so irritating.”
“But I thought that everytime, all the time, it’s like a magnet…”
“Kevin that’s only in spiritual stuff, not the real world? You are so dumb.”
“oh…………I get it. But I still have no cake. I have a sloppy bowl of ingredients and nothing else.”
“What should I do next?”
“Pick up the bowl and put it into the oven.”
“Of course. How could I have been so stupid?”
Kevin takes ANOTHER ACTION, puts the bowl in the oven…looks at it…visualizes, feels good, really good and is grateful. He opens the oven pulls out the bowl.
“You didn’t cook it.”
He looks down and realizes nothing happened. Poor Kevin is feeling like a moron.
“I gotta cook it, too?”
“Yes Kevin, you have to cook it, too.”
“Well geezuz, I thought I had to visualize, feel good, be grateful and take action.”
“Stop it, that doesn’t work OK. That is a fairy tale like Cinderella. What I’m showing your dense little brain is what works in real life.”
Tail between his legs, Kevin looks down…bummed out.
“Oh stop it…you hate whiners. Put the bowl in the oven and turn the temperature up to 425 degrees.”
“425 degrees?! How would Jesus have made chocolate cake?”
He puts the bowl in the oven and turns up the heat to 425.
“Jesus couldn’t make a cake because he didn’t have an oven that could get to 425 degrees…well maybe Jesus could, but no one else could. You have to have a lot of heat and that just came into use about a hundred years ago.
“da Vinci didn’t get chocolate cake?”
“But visualize, feel good, grateful, actions, ingredients-“
“Stop it, there wasn’t the technology.”
“Boy do I have a lot to learn.”
“How did you write so many books, you have the IQ of an earth worm? Don’t answer that…What ARE you doing?”
“I’m pulling the bowl out of the oven.”
“Because it’s at 425.”
“NO. You have to leave it in there for 45 minutes.”
“WOW, how would I have known THAT?”
“In the recipe book stupid. It’s in the recipe book. It tells you exactly how long you have to cook it for.”
“So you need a recipe book too?”
“Or you have to be taught by someone who knows what to do step by step.”
“So you can’t just take…”
“No, taking action doesn’t get you anything but a bowl full of ingredients.”
“Man, I could have sat here for the rest of my life and not figured out how to get a cake…and I had all the ingredients, actions, feelings, gratefulness, even a bowl and oven. I really owe you big time…”
“45 minutes, Kevin.”
They wait talking about various things. 45 minutes is up! Kevin pulls the cake out of the oven. It has turned into a cake! Wow! He grabs a knife and fork-
“Stop! You can’t cut into it! You idiot. It has to settle.”
“It has to settle? What does THAT mean?”
“It means that we aren’t done yet.”
“Hey where’s the icing on the cake?”
“Did you put it on?”
“No, I thought um, I thought it would like…just be there because I visualized, felt good, was grateful, knew the ingredients, followed the recipe, heated it in the oven, let it “settle” and not take action…. and I have to DO MORE STILL?”
“That’s what cooking is all about.”
“This real life stuff is for the birds. I think I’d rather just follow ‘The Secret’.” “It was a movie Kevin, with a capital ‘F’ for ‘FICTION’.”
“I guess. I wish I could cook but I wish I could cook without all this work. Like just visualize, feel good about it, be grateful, even take action and then EAT.”
“Life doesn’t work like that, Kev.”
“Not in anything. You need a recipe book. You need to actually have the ingredients. You need to have an oven. You need to have the information about how long to cook it or you won’t have a cake you’ll have a big mess on your hands….oh and one more thing YOU have to clean up now that we’re done…”
“….I’d really be SUPER GRATEFUL if you…”
She throws him a wet towel.
“After you’re done cleaning up, you can be grateful that you don’t have to do this every day that there is someone to make life look like ‘The Secret’ for you. Until then take the actions necessary to clean the kitchen…and make dinner while you’re at it.”
“She takes all the fun out of believing.”
How Do Real Millionaires Think and Behave?
The Millionaire Mind: Complete Wealth Package
The Psychology of Wealth: How the Unconscious Mind keeps you from money…
…and what you can do about it!
Whether you want to help others build wealth or do it for yourself, you’re going to need the information in this new and exciting program. The answer is NOT out there. It is not some metaphyical concept. It is real. The unconscious mind (the part of you that most often determines what you do in life) is not wired to accumulate wealth. The Psychology of Wealth Accumulation will show you how to change that…to re-structure your thinking for a lifetime of abundance.
Fact: The same part of the brain the keeps people from losing weight keeps people from great wealth!
I’m going to take you through your unconscious mind and and make sure every change you need to make takes place. I’m going to take you through a process whereby any doubts you have about wealth accumulation are either restructured to be used as leverage to accumulate wealth or as a tool to prepare for future challenges related to money.
Accumulating wealth is going to become a mind game that you win every time.
How you think at the conscious and unconscious level will determine how much you will accumulate. My job is to get you to instantly respond to money and how it is directed… in very specific ways. Once you can do this, it is remarkably easy to accumulate it.
Wealth is an elusive thing for most people. People start on programs to make money, and, much like losing weight, they fail within weeks. Here is a fact: There are critical factors involved and you will discover them all.
When you think about it…there are probably more get-rich programs available than just about any “self-development” theme. This is NOT one of them. I’ve seen very few ways to get “rich” quickly that were legal…or even ethical.
I think one of the most important turning points of my life was when I discovered that I had (at the unconscious level) self-sabotaged myself. I had used and heard that term many times. Never did it really sink in that with some powerful processing, I could isolate those causes and “unhook them.” Once I was able to do this, accumulating wealth was just about as basic as accumulating dust. BUT none of it would have ever happened had I not ventured deep inside to discover just what was holding me back. This is what you are going to be able to do, by yourself in the privacy of your own home.
This program is unique in approach and more importantly, it works. This is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme nor is it a savings program. It is about changing subconscious conditioning in less than one month and literally accumulating wealth.
Learn the golden key to the thinking process that makes wealth accumulation possible.
There are 12 fears that run your life decisions and behaviors as they relate to wealth accumulation. You’re going to learn how to see these fears and begin to unplug them. Without uprooting the causes of making the wrong decisions at the right moments…people are going to continue making them … forever.
Kevin Hogan shows you how to go back, deep into your past, and find the critical sensitizing experiences that have dramatically shaped your life as far as making and accumulating money. (There is an enormous distinction between making money and accumulating it. It is quite easy to make money. It is substantially more difficult to accumulate it…a critical distinction that we make in the Psychology of Wealth Accumulation!)
This program will literally show you how to build a bridge from self-sabotage to prosperity!
Discover counter intentions and how to change them to parallel systems of achievement. Less than 4% of people are been equipped to deal with all six of the psychological paradoxes that cause people to fail in growing wealth. The reason is simple. Most of these paradoxes are “new.” For the most part, they didn’t exist when you were a child. They do now. The roots of some of these paradoxes lie within the evolution of how you “experience work,” how you have built the beliefs about your life and your work and how deeply your programming about change has been ingrained into the depths of your mind. Now you will discover how to defeat all six paradoxes that are operating in your mind and finally move forward on your quest to accumulate wealth.
You will have the complete formula to accomplish reframing and begin adding the dollars to your treasure chests. And I’m going to walk you through the entire process.
